A creative industry enterprise in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon? One that combines the creativity of a young urban population with inspiration drawn from the Amazonian wilderness, Indigenous traditions, and the unique characteristics of local commerce. That is the Larte Manaus Cultural Center. Politically, ideologically, and religiously independent, the center brings together residents and their parents from a disadvantaged neighborhood in the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, students from public and private universities, and cultural professionals from Brazil and Europe.
The Academia Larte is part of the Larte Manaus Cultural Center and is based on contemporary scientific principles without being tied to any specific philosophical or scientific school. It combines high-level aesthetic research, primarily in the field of music, with arts education for children, community outreach, and creative projects involving European specialists, local cultural practitioners, and local schools. In doing so, it creates social and economic opportunities for the neighborhood.
The offerings of the cultural center and the Academia currently include arts education for children and their parents, community spaces, and courses for students and other interested individuals.
The current course offerings, which are also open to external participants, include workshops on aural training and improvisation in January 2027 in Manaus. It offers an opportunity to get to know the city and its creative community, make friends, and develop improvisation concepts with them. Further details about the workshops will follow here later this year. However, those interested are welcome to contact us now via the email address info@academia-larte.org.
